Our Values

Res / Rei Manifesto

RES / REI

Developing RES / REI we found inspiration in our roots. Res Rei means “The Thing” in latin. It means an existing object with substance and form; but it also means a concept, an idea. RES / REI is the ensemble of things that make life around us, in all given forms.

HANDMADE IN ITALY WITH LOVE

Our ancestors taught us an important lesson: technical knowledge is not enough to reach perfection; in order to achieve a greater result commitment and passion are necessary. We simply like to call it “love” for our work.

CUSTOM ACETATE

Don’t call it just plastic: cellulose acetate sprouts from cotton wad, not petroleum. We design and develop materials that are exclusive for our brand. Sophisticated acetate patterns create unexpected colour combinations.

ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS

Our focus is on quality: every RES / REI frame is the result of an accurate design process. The timeless beauty of our frames starts in the simple shapes enriched by extraordinary details that combined together tell our identity better than anything else.

EVERY 1000 FRAMES, WE PLANT A TREE

Reducing our environmental footprint is one of our goal. We know how much CO2 is emitted during the production cycle and to counter balance it we decided to plant a tree every 1000 frames we produce.

IT'S ABOUT UNIQUENESS

Frames are peculiar objects: they are fashion accessories, enhancement devices for aesthetics, yet they are medical devices, precision tools to overcome poor eyesight. Some might argue that spectacles are an extension of someone’s closet; for us, it’s about individuality. We don’t let fashion trends rule our style, but we are aware that frames are tools for expression. In the pursuit of the “unique”, we define style with our own point of view.

DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS

Each frame is enriched with small details that make the difference. From color lamination to three-dimensional work, from elaborate acetate hues to temple embellishments: it’s the attention to the details that make each frame a work of art.
